Cherry Vanilla Fudge

A Creamy White Fudge Full of Cherries

This cherry vanilla fudge will be a favorite party food event after event.

Creamy delicious fudge can take many forms – chocolate, peanut butter, with nuts or without nuts, with peanut butter chips in the chocolate – you name it. Fans of both cherries and anything vanilla will thoroughly enjoy this wonderful cherry vanilla fudge. It is rich and flavorful and is as pretty to look at as it is to eat. Not only will you want to make a batch for yourself but friends and family as well. Why not make it part of a gift basket?

Add a pretty cherry themed napkin or bright red tea towel to line the basket, black cherry tea, a jar of maraschino cherries, a vanilla scented candle and cute cherry magnet for on the fridge. It’s the perfect gift for a friend any time of year. The ideas are endless and your friends will thing you're the greatest.

Cherry Vanilla Fudge

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Butter an 8 inch square pan. Combine the sugar, salt, light cream, milk, corn syrup and butter in a large pot with a heavy bottom. Cook fudge mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until everything comes to a rolling boiling
  2. Continue to the cook fudge over medium heat, stirring regularly, until the candy thermometer reaches 238º F. This will be the soft-ball stage. Remove the pan from the heat but leave the thermometer in the pan.
  3. Allow the cherry vanilla fudge to cool to 100º F. Then add the vanilla. Beat briskly with a wire whisk or hand beater until fudge thickens and begins to lose its glossiness. Stir in the candied cherries.
  4. Pour into your buttered square pan. Allow to cool thoroughly. Cut into squares when firm.

Makes approximately 1 3/4 pounds.
