Why not kick your Texas Hold 'Em poker party up a notch and have your own Celebrity Poker Showdown?

How about a twist on the usual poker party? Get your guests to dress up as their favorite celebrity and run your own Celebrity Poker Showdown!

I was thinking about this the other day, 'cause my hubby and I just bought a new barbeque and need an excuse to host a big party as soon as the weather gets a bit warmer. The guests could dress up as a celeb that's appeared on Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown - Ben Affleck, Coolio, Carrie Fisher, Mimi Rogers (Tom Cruise's ex - guess she's glad she got out when she did!), Dennis Rodman, Star Jones, James Woods, and most of the casts from Desperate Housewives, Friends, Lost, Arrested Development, and The West Wing. There are loads more, but that's a good start!

Maybe even famous faces that haven't been on the show but should, like Britney Spears, Scarlett Johansson, and the American Idol judging panel of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy "Dawg" Jackson.

Then bring on the cheesy names for your food and drink! How about serving tall glasses of Matthew Perrier for those who are designated drivers? With a twist, of course. Cocktail wieners? Call 'em Franks Azaria! And rename the Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers as Dave Navarros (formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers). Endless possibilities there!

You could even get a video camera and record the event for posterity. If there's anyone who isn't all that interested in playing Texes Hold 'Em, they can be the host of the "show" and walk around to all the tables to bug the guests!
