Christmas Traditions

From cookies to stuffing, holiday food feels like home.

With so much going on during the holidays, it's so nice to take comfort in traditional food!

No doubt about it - we're heading straight into the most hectic time of the year. From shopping to decorating to wrapping, there's always a giant list of things to do until after the new year arrives. Not to mention the cleaning and cooking, and attending parties and get-togethers. Oh, and the laundry! Good clothes, table settings - you name it, it's got to be done.

One of the things that always gives me comfort is making the traditional holiday foods that my family has grown to love and expect over the years. There are my grandmother's recipes for cookies and treats, favorite desserts for both Christmas Eve and the big day itself, side dishes that just have to accompany the holiday turkey, and appaetizers galore for our holiday open house.

I try to include a few new recipes each year, but the staples are the ones that are such a pleasure to cook and serve - and, of course, to eat!
