Want to impress your Valentine on February 14th? Forget about the conversation hearts, boxes of chocolates, and other purchased treats. Make something yourself instead!

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and the pressure is on to find the perfect gift or gesture that will let your darling know how you feel. How about spending some time in the kitchen to make something really special? Your time and effort will mean much more than a trinket or bauble ever would.

Need some ideas to get you started? How about a yummy Valentine's Day cake that lets you create a heart-shaped treat without a special baking pan? Or make things truly romantic with an old classic - Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.

You could feed each other wedges of Cranberry Baked Brie, or get into the mood with Garlic Baked Oysters - just don't forget to stock up on breath mints! Shrimp Cocktail Bites are quick and easy, or dish up a delish Chocolate Fondue.

If you're going for a bit of the bubbly, try these great Champagne Cocktail Recipes to jazz things up a bit.

Happy Valentine's Day!
