While this is an easy
Reindeer Food Recipe
for kids to use for feeding wildlife, I am concerned about the fact of using sugar for animals. Sugar can be very bad for wild animals as well as our own pets...I think I would substitute things found wild, or modify the recipe to be used in a different way...perhaps using natural peanut butter and molding into pine cones or suet feeders instead.

That's a good point, samsonskola. Thanks for mentioning it!

Instead of the coloured sugar in the
Reindeer Food Recipe
, you could use fresh whole berries (if it's being used within a day or two), or maybe raisins or dried fruit. That would still give you the bright colours to make it look pretty, but be safer for the animals who will eventually tuck in. :-)

Happy Holidays!
